Sanofi-aventis’ commitment to the fight against malaria

Sanofi-aventis’ assets

For several decades, sanofi-aventis has operated in Africa and in malaria endemic countries through its subsidiaries and production units.
Our portfolio includes several antimalarial drugs, ranging from quinine to the fixed-dose combination of artesunate and amodiaquine launched in 2007.

The Impact Malaria Program

Impact Malaria was created in July 2001 as the first program of the “Access to Medicines” Department

Our objective

Coordinate the company’s know-how and resources to fight malaria.

Our observation

Medicines do not suffice in themselves. The fight against malaria must be organized on all fronts by mobilizing and creating awareness among all stakeholders.

Sanofi-aventis’ initiatives

Impact Malaria initiates actions contributing to sustainable development in countries affected by malaria. These activities are led in close association and with the support of numerous collaborators in endemic countries.
